Low Speed Vehicles
In the state of Florida, low speed vehicles (LSV) must be registered, titled and insured with personal injury protection (PIP) and property damage liability (PDL) insurance. LSV is a vehicle with a top speed greater than 20 MPH, but not greater than 25 MPH. Any person operating an LSV must have a valid driver license. LSVs may only be operated on streets where the posted speed limit is 35 MPH or less.

Florida’s Speciality License Plates
The state of Florida currently offers various specialty license plates. These plates display unique designs and were created to honor the plate holder and/or benefit a specific organization. There are additional fees associated, which vary based on the specialty plate.
Courtesy of Renewal Notices
Please note that Florida law does not provide for vehicle registration renewal notices and failure to receive a renewal notice by mail. The Martin County Tax Collector provides renewal notices as a courtesy to resident vehicle owners. The courtesy renewal notices are mailed approximately three months prior to the birth month or month in which the renewal is due. This notice does not relieve the vehicle owner of the responsibility to renew their vehicle registration and license plate in a timely manner.
The cost of renewing your registration and tag varies according to the make and model of the vehicle as well as the type of tag you have chosen to display on your vehicle.
